SPJ chapter hosts April 11 film screening in Chapel Hill

N.C. Society of Professional Journalists is hosting a documentary film screening at the UNC School of Journalism April 11. We’d love for you to join us.
A panel discussion highlighting the importance of community journalism will follow a special screening of “The Editor and the Dragon“, about Tabor City Tribune newspaper editor Horace Carter facing death and oppression when he took on the Ku Klux Klan at the height of Jim Crow.
Panelists will include Ken Ripley of the Spring Hope Enterprise, Cash Michaels of The Carolinian and Phoebe Zerwick, formerly of the Winston-Salem Journal. The panel discussion will be moderated by Jock Lauterer, UNC-CH professor of community journalism.
